Church School News

Hi everyone!

Church school starts again this year on September 13th . Our topic for the year will be Church History, beginning with the Acts of the Apostles. We will continue to hold class at 9:00 am before Divine Liturgy. With only one half hour for the classes, it is very important for the children to have arrived and be in the classroom a few minutes before 9:00 am.

Ideally, there should be at minimum two (2) adult teachers for each class. If you're interested in teaching, either on a regular basis or as a substitute one or two times a year, please see Matushka Barbara.

We have rearranged the ages of the classes a little to reflect the material we will be covering, as well as how many children we have of each age group.

The classes are as follows:

Preschool / Early Elementary

Preschool --- 2nd Grade: meets in the classroom to the left just before the kitchen. We will be learning about the stories of the Acts of the Apostles and about some of the saints of the Church.

Elementary

3rd --- 5th Grade (children who can read out loud): meets in the classroom with the music sheets halfway down the hall. We will be learning about the Acts of the Apostles, especially St Paul's journeys.

Middle School and up

6th Grade and Up: meets in the classroom to the right just before the kitchen. We will be learning about Church History, beginning with the Acts of the Apostles.
